What Exactly is Heavy?

It seems ther are some conflicting views about what defines "heavy music," and on this years Ozzfest Tour, some of those views are clashing. Both Marilyn Manson and Slipknot made digs on the bands that they felt were not the real thing. Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor declared from the stage, "I'm sick of all these bands who say they are heavy, and then they come out and pull the balls off of heavy music." You have to wonder if he had anyone in particular in mind...i.e. Crazy Town.
