Flaming Lips take acid and shoot the Jesus Egg

While most noted for their hit single "She Don't Use Jelly" and their critically acclaimed album The Soft Bulletin, The Flaming Lips actually have quite an extensive back catalog. But instead of going back and acquiring each album individually, Restless Records and Rykodisc are teaming up with the band to make your life a little easier. September 17th marks the day of release for a 3-CD package entitled Finally The Punk Rockers Are Taking Acid: 1983-1988 that couples the Lips Hear It Is, Oh My Gawd!!!, and Telepathic Surgery along with their rare 1984 self-produced debut EP and 11 extra bonus songs. Oh but there's more. There will also be a 2-CD set released on October 11th entitled The Day They Shot A Hole In The Jesus Egg which compiles In A Priest Driven Ambulance, the 3 b-sides from Unconciously Screamin', and a whole massive clutter of b-sides, outtakes, and demos.
