She Be Gettin' Her Collab On

Yes, Nelly Furtado won a Grammy, but I liked her before the hype set in ... when everyone I knew hated "I'm Like A Bird". That's everyone's story though, isn't it? Anyways, it thrills me to report that Furtado, who is currently working on her 2nd album, has recorded some tracks with The Roots and will be working with Jurassic 5 on a track. When questioned about the hip-hop influences in her new material, Nelly commented: "I've always had an open mentality with music. Music is inanimate and beautiful. You can make anything happen as long as you're passionate and you don't close your mind." The follow-up to Whoa Nelly! is due out later this year on Dreamworks Records.
