PJ's the Big Stoner Queen

Reported by erun

Good news and more good news! PJ Harvey has been in Australia on the Big Day Out with Queens of the Stone Age, and she's currently working on the upcoming Desert Sessions disc with Josh Homme. It's also been said that Ms. Polly has spent some time in the studio with Mark Lanegan, laying down vocals for his upcoming solo album. Harvey will return to London soon to finish up her new, as-yet-untitled record, which will include some songwriting time with Marianne Faithful. There is even some talk of European show dates as early as August. Yippee!

I'd Like to Be a Cowboy...

Reported by erun

"The album's called Elephant to represent both me and Meg's personalities off stage and in real life - majesty and regalness, and innocence and subtlety - but it also ties in with this death of a sweetheart notion." stated Jack White of the White Stripes to NME.com. Why did I bother telling you this? Because you gotta head over to NME.com and see the cowpoke motif that the Whites have employed as their new "image"... At least for the album promos, anyway.

Gimmie Tape, Gimme Screen, YARGH!

Reported by erun

Metal-lisha, or Metallica to those few fans left, have finished their new album St. Anger, and it will be coming to a file-sharing...er, record store near you on June 10th. Lars and the Gang are going to be heading out on the Summer Sanitarium tour with likely puppets Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit, but wait- Two filmmakers are getting the whole process on tape for a documentary feature. You can previously see members of Bizkit on various b-movie porn tapes, if you wanna bone up before you get the upcoming Metallica thingy. Details?

And the Wind Whispers... Tacky

Reported by erun

Jimi Hendrix's remains have been moved from Renton, Washington's Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery to be relocated to a new memorial, which sounds to me like the most gloriously trashy thing you'll ever see. The memorial is at the aforementioned cemetary and is almost finished. Why do I say it's gross? Said shrine will feature a thirty-foot-high granite dome with columns bordered by "rainbow" marble and a life-size bronze sculpture of the Voodoo Chile. 'Scuse me while I dis this, guys.

RHCP Comin' Atcha

Reported by erun

Did we already give the Red Hot Chili Peppers upcoming concert dates with the appropriately newly-marijuana-free Snoop Dogg? Queens of the Stone Age are on board for the first leg of the tour, and for the second leg Snoop Dogg will replace Queens, while Mars Volta (I know you already know, I just am lazy) will remain aboard. RHCP will head to England for the V2003 festival on August 16th and 17th, and then play festivals in Germany on the 19th and 21st.

You've Got Foetus on Your Cartoon

Reported by heyrevolver

The Venture Brothers, a new cartoon on the Cartoon Network, will feature a theme song and score by Foetus, Manorexia and Steroid Maximus. The fact that all three of these artists are involved shouldn't surprise you, as they're all pseudonyms for the one and only Jim Thirlwell. The pilot episode airs this Sunday at 11:30pm, so check it out.

Listen here Junior, Dinosaurs leave Deep Wounds

Reported by ben

If you crave Dinosaur Jr., even from the days before they were known by that moniker, Surefire Records has got a crapload of stuff coming out for you. First of all, they are re-releasing the classic albums Dinosaur, You're Living All Over Me, and Bug, as well as the singles infested Fossils. But to get just a bit crazier, they're re-releasing two hardly ever been released discs by Deep Wound, a hardcore band that one might say evolved into Dinosaur Jr. Radiobeat and bootleg release will be making up the Deep Wound re-releases. All of these re-releases can be expect to be available to you by summer's end, with bonus tracks of course.

Well, just wanted to let you know that the Massive Attack feature is officially open. So, go browse the minisite and enter the contest.
