RIP Jack Mack

Claude Pepper (a.k.a. Jack Mack), who worked with the Righteous Brothers, Three Dog Night and fronted Jack Mack And The Heart Attack, died on February 4th in Los Angeles after a long battle with cancer.

Those darn Loefflers, better known as Chevelle, will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live on February 19th. The performance will be held at a secret location in Los Angeles, CA, but fans are being asked to help out. If you live in the LA are and will available on the 19th between 8-10pm, visit 1iota.com and register for the Chevelle event. They'll do the rest. Whereas, the rest of us can just tune into ABC that night. Oh yeah, they'll also grace the Late Show With David Letterman studio on March 31st too.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor just announced a three night stand at the newly reopened and legendary Rialto Theatre in Montreal. This is the band's hometown and rumor has it that they put a little extra into shows there (like an extra hour). The dates are April 13 - 15 and mark the end of their North American tour. Since every last one of you should make a grand effort to see at least one show, the revised list of Godspeed dates will appear (magically) if you hit 'more'.

The next "big thing" from New Zealand (they hope so, at least), Pacifier, released their self-titled US debut on Tuesday. Be warned: it's heavy on the radio and less on the indie, but this writer thinks it's a solid release. Anyways, break out Window Media player and check out their first single, "Bullitproof", and then decide whether or not you can shell out $5.99 at Best Buy for the album (this week only, I'm sure).
