Still Hope For Stone Temple Pilots

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Scott Weiland quoted that "Stone Temple Pilot has never broken up, we just have made a decision to take time apart and do different things - there's always hope". Stone Temple Pilots have also recorded a new track called "All In The Suit That You Wear" for a greatest hits album due out sometime in the future. Meanwhile, Weiland's new band Velvet Revolver, which features past members of Guns N' Roses have a new song on the upcoming soundtrack for The Hulk entitled "Set Me Free".

Ween develop new file-sharing software

Leave it to Ween to come up with something so crazy it just might work. The band is planning to release software entitled "WeenAmp" to coincide with the upcoming release of the Sanctuary Records album quebec (now slated for Aug. 5th, not July 22nd as previously reported). The software will enable users to swap live Ween shows, view webcasts of upcoming Ween shows, listen to WeenRadio, and download new songs direct from the band. Foo Fighters DVD

You can now access the new Foo Fighters video for "Low" online. You can gain access to the One By One bonus site by putting your copy of One By One in the CD-ROM of your computer with internet access. In other Foo news, RCA Records will be releasing a Foo Fighters DVD/EP on July 1st. The DVD will include three verisons of the "Times Like These" video as well as the new "Low" video, priced at $5.98.

The Fire Theft Sign Record Contract

The Fire Theft have officially signed to Ryko Records and is currently in a Los Angeles studio putting the finishing touches on recording and mixing. The band plans on releasing their new album around September 23rd in the US, with October 7th being the targeted release date for rest of the planet.

Radiohead are set to release a new DVD available only in Canada entitled 7 Television Commercials, which was previously released in the US. The DVD features a compilation of videos for songs filmed through the OK Computer era and will hit stores on August 5th.

A Radiohead Tour

Fresh from the Field Day fiasco, Radiohead have announced a Fall US tour. Tickets for the first leg of the tour (August 13th - 31st) go on sale this Saturday, June 21st, with the exception of the August 31st Seattle, WA date, which goes on sale Saturday, June 28th. A second leg has been confirmed for September 23 through October 6th, with on-sale dates to be announced at a later time. Additionally, MTV2 will debut Radiohead's June 5th performance at the Beacon Theater in NYC on June 17th at 9:00pm ET. Here are the dates...

Reel Big Ex-Drummer

Reel Big Fish and their drummer for the past 4 years, Carlos De La Garza, have parted ways. The split is an amicable one as De La Garza has opted to pursue other things and spend more time with his wife and family. Filling in on drums for their upcoming summer tour is Justin Ferreria. Opening for Reel Big Fish on the latest dates are Zebrahead, Wakefield and The Matches, with GOB and Riddlin Kids performing select shows.

Rancid Changes Their Tune

Despite previous reports, it now seems that the new Rancid album is not only untitled, but has been pushed back to an August 26th release date. Also, the band has jumped ship at Epitaph and will now release the new album through Warner Brothers. Sorry, but I have heard the band say several times that people should boycott major record labels and support the indies. Does that still apply?
