The New Amsterdams Are Back Again

Matt Pryor's (The Getup Kids) side project, The New Amsterdams, are releasing their third album, entitled Worse For the Wear, on August 5th. The side project was originally a one-man band but gradually evolved into a four-piece. In preparation for the new album, the band has launched a new webpage with updated downloads, tour dates and merch.

They're Definitely Something Corporate

Something Corporate has finished recording and mixing their new album at Robert Lang's Studio in Seattle, WA. Some of the songs featured on the as-yet-untitled album include, “21 And Invincible,” “Me And The Moon,” “Ruthless” and “Miss America". The band is also heading on tour this summer opening for 311. He's All, Like, Hulk Hogan

Aaron Perrino, formerly of The Sheila Divine, is set to put out his first two releases under the name Dear Leader. On July 1st, New England-based Lunch Records will put out a 7" for the song "My Life As A Wrestler", which will be followed by the War Chords EP set for a July 8th release. If you live in the Boston-area, Mr. Perrino will be performing for the first time with a new band every Tuesday at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge for the month of July. Sloan Finish New Record

According to their website, Sloan has just finished recording a new album entitled Action Pact which was inspired by "Youth Action Pact," a song by 80's Halifax punk band The Jellyfishbabies. The new record will be out on August 19th, with the first single and video due out early July. And, finally, a full North American tour is expected by late September.

Remembering Patsy Cline, a tribute album to uh, Patsy Cline, who died in a plane crash thirty years ago, will be out September 9th from MCA. According to their studio journal, Blink-182 have recorded 11 songs for their new album, reportedly titled Use Your Erection I And II, and should be done with the recording process in about one month, with a tentative October 28th release. You can head over the Q4 website and check out the new Red Hot Chili Peppers video for "Universally Speaking," hopefully the last single from By The Way. Well, it's actually like the pseudo, forth video where the band doesn't really want to do another, but the label wants to release another single. Anyways, it's got the crazy guy from the "By The Way" video. Go waste four minutes.

Atlantic No Mo'

One of SU's favorite R&B ladies, Lina, has signed a deal with Hidden Beach Records to release her sophomore album sometime this Fall. She previously released Stranger On Earth in 2001 via Atlantic Records, but has since been dropped from the label. During the down time, Lina also started her own independent label, MoodStar Recordings. Stay tuned for more updates.
