In Time It All Gets Old

According to their official website, R.E.M. will release their second "best of" compilation, titled In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003, in October. The collection will include two new tracks, "Bad Day" and "Animal". The band recently shot a video for "Bad Day" and plan on releasing it as a single. Aside from embarking on a giant world tour the band is also presently working on their 14th album, which will include the songs "Maps and Legends", "Get Up", "She Wants To Be" and "Walk Unafraid".

James And Maynard Sitting In A Tree

According to this news post at Undercover, James Iha, formerly of the Smashing Pumpkins, is set to join the ranks of A Perfect Circle. APC was set to have auditions for the slot this week, but cancelled when Iha became available. Furthermore, the new APC album will be released on September 16th, with the first single in August. Well, that's a lot to hope for. We'll keep you updated.

Real Vast offers real e-commerce

After a small change of plans, the VAST website is taking orders for the latest semi-album of songs entitled Turquoise. The album only costs $2.99 and contains "10 tracks that are part of the making of VAST's third album. It gives a peek into the creative process as the work goes on." So it's kind of a collection of demo's of songs that might be on the third official album. The site is also offering a contest where two songs will be given out for free if you get 25 people to sign up to their message board by August 1st.
