Reported by heyrevolver

Last month we let you in on Glassjaw frontman Daryl Palumbo's new project, Head Automatica. Well, according to Kerrang!, Palumbo and drummer Larry Gorman are currently working on the side-project's debut album with producer Dan The Automator. Of the collab, Palumbo had this to say: "I've been writing electronic music for a long time... I've always been a fan of Dan The Automator, so I asked him if he wanted to get involved. We really clicked and his role just naturally grew from producer to full-on collaborator." The HA sound is described as "dark and futuristic, with a blend of garage and dance." Their debut album is due out in early 2004.

Fresh Off the Forca

Reported by erun

Fresh Off the Boat, Nelly Furtado's next CD, will not be baby themed. Furtado is pregnant, however, but she's not letting the bun in the oven interfere with Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and drummer Joey Waronker (R.E.M., Beck) guesting on the album, and Furtado plans to have Bela Fleck add banjo to the song "Forca!" Which means, "go for it, kick ass" in Portugese. Forca, Nelly!

I Stand Alone, Unplugged

Godsmack are being less loud and proud for their November 18th release... An acoustic album that features stripped-down versions of older material and new tracks. The band is working with producer David Bottrill, who produced "I Stand Alone," the band's contribution to The Scorpion King soundtrack, in a Hawaii studio. Expect "Voodoo" to be less that menacing this time around, I guess.

Tori Amos has recorded "Snow Cherries" for her best of album. She also has another song that is so far without title but not without titilation from the Tori community, specifically friend and author Neil Gaimen, who describes the song as "political in nature, and is about now and also goes back to the days when Tori used to play as a young piano girl in Washington to congressmen, and to their call girls" in his online journal. Stay tuned.

Back To Square One

Reported by heyrevolver

Badly Drawn Boy will release his follow-up to the mildly disappointing Have You Fed The Fish? next year in March. He told NME.com, "it’s very sparse – minimal instruments. With just drums, bass, piano and vocals it sounds hard." Perhaps it's a move back to the Bewilderbeast days, but we'll have to wait and see how the "darker" album turns out.
