According to NME.com, No Doubt are working on a greatest hits collection while Gwen Stefani is off doing other things. The album will include all the bands hits as well as two new songs, one of which is a cover of the Talk Talk track "It's My Life".

Later this month the amazing Regurgitator will release a home-mixed DVD of some footage from their recent UK tour. The DVD, Nein, Nein, Nein... the Slumber of the Beast - THE DVD, will be released on September 15th through Valve Records. The band has also lined up the beginings of a Fall Tour and we have word that a new album will be released in early 2004.

Enter the Static Shadow Zone

Static-X have added their new track "Ostegolectric" to their Shadow Zone player which is located here. Along with the new song, the band's new single "The Only" and "Destroy All" can also be listened to on the player. Static-X will release their new album Shadow Zone on October 7th through Warner Bros. Records. The band recently spent time in Los Angeles to shoot a video for their song "The Only", which will be ready for viewing by the end of the month.

Hell Has Frozen Over

Not to put in too much of an editorial, but The Pixies are my most favorite band ever and I've often wondered about a possible reunion. After Frank Black's comments back in July, I thought I was just getting my hopes up, but according to MTV.com, it looks like I'm not. Next April, The Pixies will reform for a tour and a possible new studio album. All I can say is "Wow".

The band will soon be playing a couple one-off shows before hitting the road on a full U.S. tour beginning Friday, September 12th with Saves The Day, hitting every major market through the end of November.

It is confirmed: Tori Amos will mark her decade-long career with the release of a best-of collection on Atlantic Records on November 18th. Amos compiled the set with care, including "Snow Cherries From France" and "Angels" alongside "Precious Things", "Silent All These Years," "Cornflake Girl," and "Spark." Two songs "Mary" and "Sweet Dreams" -- were originally slated for release on Little Earthquakes, but were cut from the final album. Amos re-tracked the songs with her current bassist Jon Evans and drummer Matt Chamberlain. "I don't think they were brought to their zenith," she said to RollingStone.com. "And I thought the songs were still valid."

Sarah McLachlan will return to the music world on November 4th with her first studio album in 6 years, Afterglow. According to this Rolling Stone article, McLachlan's manager explained the hiatus with a couple sentences: "Everyone needs to recharge their batteries at some point. It's good to step back and give the public some relief from you." Good answer, good answer.

Jangly, white-boy rapper Cex will release his next full-length album, Maryland Mansions, on November 18th through Jade Tree. It will be Cex' first album on Jade Tree, but his fifth so far. Of said album, Jade Tree reported we have "legendary freestyle ability, laptop glitch and glitz, classic party rap and... NIN-inspired darkwave drama" to look forward too.
