In February 2004, Nashville's Lambchop will release not one, but two albums, Aw Cmon and No You Cmon. Why two albums? According to the official site (which is f'ing hilarious), "The two albums were birthed by the same creative process, however, hence their simultaneous release bound together." Of course, we have the tracklisting for both...
Vagrant Records has made available a limited number of Moneen DVD's featuring a live performance, two audio tracks and their new video for "Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now?". You can also preview the new DVD.
Following the release of "Re-Offender", Travis will send "The Beautiful Occupation" to UK retailers and radio on December 15th. The song was originally released on the Warchild Charity album, Hope, earlier this year, but a full-band version was recorded for 12 Memories. The song will be released on 7" vinyl and CD backed with various new songs - "I Don't Mean To Get High" written by Fran Healy, and "Distraction", "Back In The Day" and "The Score" written by bassist, Dougie Payne. So, it might actually be worthy of some import dollars after all.
In more video news, MTV will not air the Mates of State video for "Ha Ha" because it is too "arty". That makes absolutely no sense, considering the questionable quality of the videos that air and the fact that video is pretty good. However, they are hosting on their website. You can download the video directly from here also.
Jon Crosby, better known as VAST, has announced that the Carson Daly / Jonathan Rifkind label 456 Entertainment will be releasing the next VAST album entitled Nude. The disc will include eight songs from the previously released internet album Turquoise, and four from Crimson. Expect a limited edition version of the album sometime this year and a larger national release around February 24th. Also look for some additional Jon Crosby projects through his new company 2 Blossoms sometime in the not too distant future.

Melissa Auf Der Maur, who you may remember best as the bassist for the now defunct Hole, is planning on releasing her first solo album in the Spring of 2004. Tiny Mix Tapes reports that the album will have a slew of cameos, including Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri from Queens of the Stone Age, James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins, Blinker The Star's Jordan Zadorozny, Tinker's Steve Durand, Tomahawk's John Stainer, Hole's Eric Erlandson, Rocket From The Crypt's Atom Willard, Fu Manchu's Brant Bjork, and Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan. Jeez, does she even perform on her own album?

Year Of The Rabbit premiered their new video for, "Last Defense", over at Rolling Stone (you can enter fake info, they don't use it). The video isn't going to win them any cool points and they all look a little stiff, but at least they tried. Nevertheless, listen out for the song's radio premiere on November 17th, which should be good promotion for the first date of their upcoming tour with APC.
The Queers are back on tour and apparently won’t touch the East Coast with a ten foot pole. You can hear the Queers on their latest, a split 12” with Manges where they cover the Sufaris’ “Wipe Out”. Hmmmm.
