Something of interest to most readers: Rolling Stone has published (what they think are) the 500 greatest albums of all time. As expected, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Ramones, and The Clash appear often on the list, but modern artisits such as Radiohead, No Doubt, Green Day, The Strokes, and Nirvana hold their own on the list as well.

Is It Summer Yet?

More acts have been announced for this summer’s Vans Warped Tour. Thus far, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday and Coheed and Cambria are scheduled to appear. Also in the works is a 10-year reunion at the end of the summer in New York City. As well, a DVD documenting the 2003 tour will surface soon, featuring performances from Rancid, The Distillers, Pennywise, and AFI.

Yeah Yeah Books

Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs can now add "published a book" to the list of things he’s done so far. Slept In Beds, published by Evil Twin Publications, contains a selection of photographs of hotel beds that Zinner stayed in while traveling the world. Xiu Xiu Me

Xiu Xiu have just completed work on their new album, Fabulous Muscles, and it will be out in sometime in March 2004 on 5RC (5 Rue Christine) - kid sister to Kill Rock Stars. Frontperson Jamie Stewart is currently touring the US solo, but he will resume to touring with a full band when Xiu Xiu heads out on the road next year in support of the new record.

A video is in the the works for the Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros version of the classic Marley tune “Redemption Song”. A large chunk of the video will be shot in NYC at the bar Niagra. Cameos by fans and friends of Strummer are aplenty, including all of Rancid, Steve Buscemi, Matt Dillon, and Jesse Malin. Read more to hear a full description of the video... it sounds amazing.

New Libertines Album

NME.com reports that The Libertines will be working on their sophomore album with former Suede member Bernard Butler. They will head back in the studio sometime in December, after band member Carl Barat recovers from a recent accident- he consumed a bottle of whiskey before taking a bath. After getting out, he slipped and cracked his head on the sink, seriously damaging his left cheek, resulting in a fractured cheekbone and damaged tearduct.

Wilco In The Studio

Wilco are back in the studio with producer Jim O'Rourke recording the follow-up to 2002’s Yankee Foxtrot Hotel. The album, to be titled W*lco Happens, is set for a Spring 2004 release. However, it has been confirmed that the songs "We Are Finished Waiting For You Now" and "Hell Is Chrome" have already been confirmed for inclusion.

Classic Green Day

Lookout! Records will be reissuing Green Day’s classic debut album, 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, on January 27th. The remastered version will also feature 20 minutes of live performances dating back to 1991, vintage photos, handwritten lyrics, and original show flyers. You can hear a remastered version of “409 In Your Coffeemaker” over at Lookout Records.

Damn Pirates, Why Must They Steal the Korn

Much like the new G-G-G-Unit album a couple weeks ago, Korn's new album, Take A Look In the Mirror, will hit the shelves a couple days early due to internet piracy. The record was supposed to hit stores Tuesday, November 25th, but instead will drop this Friday (November 21st) as a reaction to the album leaking onto the net. When it drops, be sure to look out for limited edition copies of the album that will be bundled with a bonus DVD featuring 30 minutes of content.

The Aquabats have just released (it hit stores yesterday to be exact) "a dazzling array of booya" in the form of a 2-disc DVD featuring over 3 hours of footage. Dynamic duo The Black Keys were forced to cancel their European tour due to a fractured bone in guitarist Dan Auerbach’s foot, as well as a bout of mental and physical exhaustion. They plan to reschedule the dates sometime in 2004.

In a recent interview with Guitar One Magazine, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Dean DeLeo reported that STP is no more; "To try and go and accomplish something with this band after we've already peaked is a bit cheesy, there's no way to go but out." The band's greatest hits album, entitled Thank You, was released November 11th and included the new tune, "All In The Suit That You Wear".

The new CKY DVD, Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild - The Video Album was released today. The DVD features videos for every song on the album as well as "96 Quite Bitter Beings" and "Disengage The Simulator".
