Organized by producer David Pack after reading about a recent double suicide, the album also features Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Eat World, and 311.

Not Greatful To Keep This Alive

Guitarist Warren Haynes has joined the evolving lineup of the (dead, gone, Jerry was the cornerstone stop beating a dead horse) Grateful Dead, featuring members of the original dead Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart. Haynes will also continue playing in Gov't Mule and totally kicking arse in the Allman Brothers Band. The new Dead lineup will debut February 9th at the second annual Winter Jam at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco.

The Von Bondies will promote their major-label debut, which you are aware of, Pawn Shoppe Heart, due March 10th, with a North American tour kicking off February 18th in East Lansing, Michigan. The tour wraps March 29th in Hollywood.

Ryan Adams Falls, Hilarity Ensues

Ryan Adams fell six feet off a stage during a gig and Liverpool and broke his wrist. He continued to play, but the pain was too much and cut the set short to go to the hospital. What a trooper! Most likely, the rest of the tour will be delayed. D'oh!

Amen YosepH Kerrier District

After bringing us Amen Andrews and YosepH in 2003, Luke Vibert has adopted another moniker, Kerrier District project, and is releasing an album under said name on the 26th of January. Vibert is currently on tour with Aphex Twin, and you can read an article about that, from Aphex's point of view, here. The forthcoming Polyphonic Spree album has been titled Together We're Heavy. While no official tracklisting has been announced we do have a long list of song titles that are tenatively scheduled to appear. In other band news, the 25-piece group is set to remix a Yoko Ono track and score a film entitled "Thumbsucker."

In celebration of ten years of successfully putting out great records, Fierce Panda will be releasing Decade: Ten Years of Fierce Panda. The retrospective compilation features the likes of Supergrass, Placebo, Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, and many more. Several of the tracks are b-sides or demo versions not available from any other label. Expect this one to be available March 1st (at least in the UK).

Sufjan knows more than Michigan

Sufjan Stevens is set to release his second album Seven Swans on March 16th via Sounds Familyre. If you're wondering when this indie/folk rocker will be releasing the proper state-themed followup to Greetings From Michigan, The Great Lake State, have no fear. He is reportedly going back in the studio this year to record an album about Illinois (no joke).

Frank Black Francis ?!?!

According to the latest SpinArt Records newsletter, in April they will be releasing a double-CD set entitled Frank Black Francis. Not much else is mentioned, in regards to whether it will be Frank Black & The Catholics or just Charles by himself, but needless to say the title is what fans hope is a bit revealing about Mr. Black's future plans.
