Ultimate Metal Beatdown, Gwrt!

Reported by erun

Slayer, Hatebreed, Damageplan and Clutch will contribute tracks to Ultimate Fighting Championship: Ultimate Beatdowns, Volume 1, due August 24th. Unrelased tracks from American Head Charge, Shadows Fall, Chimaira and Icepick, should not be as interesting as Sepultura's unissued take on U2's anti-war screed "Bullet the Blue Sky."

CSI Sounds Good

Songs by Lamb, Ill Nino, the Doves and Massive Attack will be included on CSI: Miami, the Soundtrack, due June 29th. It actually isn't that bad of a compilation, unlike the show.

Redheads Aren't Your Enemy

Reported by erun

Hands on a Hard Body is the working title for Garbage's new album, which is set for a 2005 release (y'knew it, and maybe Dave's still the credited drummer on the "...Bad Boyfriend" track) and Shirley has red hair again, which makes me happy. Check out the tracklisting, which sounds more exciting than the last album's.

Pay Big Bucks for the Donkey Show

Reported by erun

Dave Grohl, Tenacious D and Liz Phair will perform acoustic sets at a July 6th fundraiser for Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry on July 6th at the Music Box Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets for the show will be $150 for general admission (what the..?) and $500 (oh, pocket change) for a private VIP lounge. "Committee members" (i.e., emcees) for the event include Affleck and Dunst. Something about this bugs me.

At Least It Is Not Esther

Reported by robin

The Reunion Show have been through a lot of changes in lineup, so they have decided to now be known as Action Action. Dumb name, but as long as their upcoming album is as good as their last, I will call them anything they want.

Late, Great, But Still Living...

Reported by margaret

Apparently singer/songwriter Daniel Johnston has some rather talented friends. Folks like Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, Tom Waits, and the Eels, just to name a few, have collaborated on a tribute album to raise money for the artist who hasn't been able to make a living off his music himself as of yet. The Late, Great Daniel Johnston: Discovered Uncovered will be released September 21st, and the tracklist is fairly impressive...
