Nettwerk America's next holiday compilation entitled Maybe This Christmas Tree will hit shelves in way plenty of time for your holiday party plans (October 5th, to be precise). Participating artists will be Pedro the Lion, The (omni-present) Polyphonic Spree, Death Cab For Cutie, and The Raveonettes just to name a few. Tracklisting is as follows:

It's been 25 years(!) since The Clash released their epic double album London Calling. And to celebrate, London Calling: The 25th Anniversary Edition, complete with unheard demos, rare and previously unseen band photos, song lyrics, and a DVD documentary, will be released on September 21st. Long live the best rock album ever!
Today kicks off the massive, talent-packed Glastonbury Festival in England. And for us poor sods who can't be there, they've taken pity again and will be sending out webcasts of selected acts. PJ Harvey, Elbow, Franz Ferdinand, Basement Jaxx, Muse, and Belle & Sebastian are being featured to name a few. update: looks like you can view the feeds all weekend!!
Though we reported back in February that the new Fiona Apple record Extraordinary Machine would be coming out sometime this year, we are starting to hear that Sony shelved the project and that there is no tenative release. Fortunately for those of us on the web there has been a bit of a leak...

The Libertines are set to release their second album, entitled The Libertines, on August 31st through Rough Trade. The album will be preceded in the UK with the single "Can't Stand Me Now" on August 9th. The band will perform at various festivals during the summer: July 10th Glasgow - T in the Park, July 11th Dublin - Oxygen Festival, August 28th Reading - Festival, August 29th Leeds - Festival.

Rufus Wainwright is set to release four tracks from the "Want" sessions on June 29th exclusively via iTunes. These four tracks are the first installment of Want Two and is a musical companion to his current album Want One. This electronic EP will be titled Waiting For A Want.

Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Damian and Ky-Mani Marley - five sons of music legend Bob Marley - have announced the debut and launch of the "Bob Marley: Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival." The summer concert tour will kick off in Virginia in early August with a four-week series of North American dates. The Marleys, Toots, Slightly Stoopid, Looner and Stone Love featuring MC/DJ G-Fuss will be on all dates. Common, Blackalicious and NappyRoots will appear on select dates only.
Last week, Fuse (you know, the TV channel?) kicked off the their coverage of the 10th Anniversary Van’s Warped Tour with Warped Wednesdays. Every Wednesday this summer between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM (EST), Fuse will be overtaken by bands on the tour, hosting hours of their favorite music videos and sharing their Warped road stories.
