The new Bjork album that we told you about is starting to get a bit more press. According to this Rolling Stone article the album will consist of entirely vocal arrangements as "Instruments are so over." Expect apperances from Rahzel and Mike Patton among others.
I couldn't let today slip by without letting everyone know that today marks Silent Uproar's four year anniversary. It has been a great four years and I can't thank you all enough for continuing to visit the site. We are forgoing a big anniversary contest to save up for our 5 year blow-out that will take place next year. Electronics giant Sony is getting ready to release the Network Walkman NW-HD1 into direct competition with the iPOD. This August, the 20-gig device will be unleashed on the US market, featuring a holding capacity of 13,000 songs, a battery that lasts 30 hours, and a pricetag of under $400. Interpol's new CD, Antics, has leaked all over the internet. It appears to be an unmastered copy, but still a great listen.
Ben Folds' trilogy of EPs will soon be complete with the release of Super D on July 27th. Like the other EPs, this disc will only be available through AttackedByPlastic.com and will feature three new original songs: "Kalamazoo," "Adelaide," and "Rent a Cop," as well as two covers: The Darkness' "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman" and the Ray Charles song "Them That Got" recorded live in Boston.
The four Swedish girls known as Sahara Hotnights have a new album coming out July 27th called Kiss and Tell, and the band will be touring with The Hives this summer. In true SU fashion, we have links to the video for their single “Hot Night Crash” in Windows Media and Real Video.

Apple is reaching towards the 100 million downloads mark with iTunes, and to celebrate the milestone, they ae giving away some cool stuff. For each 100,000th download between 95 million and 100 million, the person purchasing that download will win a 20GB iPod, while the 100 millionth download will earn you a 17” PowerBook, a 40GB iPod, and a gift certificate for 10,000 iTunes songs. Hot damn that'd be sweet.
Moby and Public Enemy have joined forces on a new song entitled “Make Love Fuck War.” The track is available now through iTunes.

Attack Records is getting ready to release "First Of The Gang To Die," the second single from Morrissey's album You Are The Quarry. The single will drop on July 13th and will feature three new B-sides.
Looks like the crafty Cure have put up a "secret site" that can only be accessed by clicking on this link from their new CD. The album, simply entitled The Cure, came out yesterday (June 29th) in the US.
For the Next X: A Benefit CD for RAINN compilation CD is about to be out, and proceeds from the sales will help fund the work of RAINN and the National Sexual Assault Hotline, which Tori Amos started (yeah, she's on the CD). On the disc are previously unreleased or limited-release tracks (and some heard before) from artists like the Indigo Girls, and Michelle Branch as well as up-and-coming artists including Charlotte Martin, Ben Jelen, and The Ben Taylor Band.
Here's a bizarre tidbit: The Pet Shop Boys are involved in a project to compose a soundtrack for the classic and influential 1925 film Battleship Potemkin, directed by Segei Eisenstein. The landmark film tells the story of a sailors' revolt onboard the Russian battleship in 1904.
It appears that Prodigy might actually release that album they've been talking about for years (Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned). If you go visit alwaysoutnumbered.com you'll be given the chance to download the track "Memphis Track." That is, if you're one of the first 5,000 people to go for it. Apparently each download of the song is a unique variation of the track, even comes with unique artwork.
In a bit of disheartening news, it appears that the debut Autolux album has been pushed back to a September 7th release. However, this is a good sign that their label is trying to position the album for success, and not just flopping it out there and dropping all support for it. It's one of those double-edged sword kinda situations.
