According to their website it appears to that 12 Rods will be playing their last show on August 14th at First Avenue in Minneapolis. While the band is breaking up they have big plans to post every song and demo they've ever recorded for $0.99, along with a load of other goods. Expect new projects from each band member in the coming months.

The trail grows longer.. new album in Sept.

...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead have tenatively scheduled September 21st as the release of their next album. Unfortunately coupled with this great news is a report that bassist Neil Busch has left the band due to severe health problems and has been replaced by Danny Wood from The Rise. It is uncertain if this replacement is temporary or not. More details as they arise...

Clientele 7

Look for a 7" from Clientele to be coming out in the next few months on Unpopular Records. It will feature a version of "Lacewings" and "Policemen Getting Lost" that were recorded live. There will only be 500 copies available, so you gotta be quick.

Futures For Jimmy Eat World

Any Minute Now Soulwax will be released

Soulwax will release their follow up to Much Against Everyones Advice on August 23rd. The new album, and single, is entitled Any Minute Now and features more of the rock sound that Soulwax fans may be used to, as opposed to the insane DJ collection that The Dewaele Brothers unleashed on the world a few years ago. The new album was predominatly produced by Flood (NiN, PJ Harvey) and mixed with Alan Moulder.

The Elliot Smith finale

The final Elliott Smith album From a Basement on the Hill is now scheduled for an October 19th release on Anti-Records. While not the double album that it was originally thought, we can expect to hear 15 new tracks. The remaining 19 tracks that were recorded have been speculated to be slated for a b-side CD from Dreamworks / Interscope, though there are no solid plans for them.

Live Aid At Your Fingertips

The historic 1985 concert for famine relief in Africa will be available on DVD on November 10th. Featuring performances by the biggest acts in the world and punctuated by an incredible show from Queen, Live Aid raised over $70 million. Extras on the DVD will include a documentary and other Live Aid related performances from around the world.
