While on hair-raising trip to the not-so-peaceful Democratic Republic of Congo in May to shoot a documentary with nonprofit group War Child Canada, Sum 41 agreed that if they made it out of the country alive, they would name their next album "Chuck," in honor of the UN representative who helped get them to safety. And so they did. Chuck, the band's third album, will be available Oct 12th.

I love eating and drinking in Wicker Park...oh, and I hear there's this new movie called Wicker Park too. Perhaps you've heard of it? Lots of folks have lined up for the soundtrack, and Postal Service has graced it with a remake of 80s tearjerker "Against All Odds." You can check out the video in Windows Media or Real Player. Due to some bizarre chart eligibility thing, Franz Ferdinand had to pull their planned B-side for the single "Michael." The song should have been a German version of "Tell Her Tonight," featuring the drummer on vocals. It's pretty damn funny, and it's now available for download compliments of the band here. Danke!

Welcome To Palookaville

Word has come that Fatboy Slim is set to release his new album Palookaville on October 5th. The album will again feature guest vocalists including Damon Albarn, Lateef, Justin Robertson, and local Brighton band Jonny Quality. The lead single from the album is a remake of Steve Miller Band's classic "The Joker" featuring vocals from Bootsy Collins and you can hear it here.

The Stills just released their second video from Logic Will Break Your Heart, "Lola Stars And Stripes." The video was shot all in one take in New York by Olivier Gondry (who directed the newest Vines and Loretta Lynn/Jack White videos, as well as co-directed the Bjork and Daft Punk videos with his brother Michel) and 'perfectly encapsulates the fear of living in a post-9/11 America.'
