Cracker see's Forever in January

Reported by yewknee

Backporch/Virgin Records artist Cracker are gearing up to release their fifth studio album Forever on January 29th, 2002. However, the first single "Merry Christmas Emily" will be serviced to modern rock radio for play starting as early as mid-November. Frontman David Lowery recorded and produced the album on his own, with some help from guitarist Johnny Hickman and Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous. Lowery says "It's definetly a Cracker record, but some of the elements are updated... more of a dense, layered studio thing with a lot of manipulation in the songs." Hopefully the push back to January (the album was originally slated for an October release) will leave room for the promotion of the album and not leave it buried in holiday releases (though January has it's fair share of releases too...).
