Mula Xul will be performing live at the Visulite Theatre in Charlotte, NC tomorrow, May 4th. Mula Xul is a Charlotte, NC based progressive rock band that has been hard at work creating a conceptual set dealing with the collapse of society. Their sets are linear works, that paint a disturbing picture of the not so distant future. Sounds whack, I know, but go check it out and be pleasently surprised.
The four members of the band, Mark Baran (vocals and guitars), Tom Mckiever (lead guitars), Brad Messer (vocals, bass,and baritone guitars), and Matt Curl (Percussion) decided to create an epic tale of one person's experience in an apocalyptic setting. The music has a dark and layered sound with undertones of spanish guitar, afro-cuban rhythm, and hard rock.
