Decemberists Explode In January
Reported by heyrevolver
In a recent mailing list message, The Decemberists spelled out what exactly to expect from their camp in '06. First and foremost, Colin Meloy will head out solo-style with a series of dates in January. Available at said shows will be a limited edition EP, Colin Meloy Sings Trad. Arr. Shirley Collins, which features Mr. Meloy covering Shirley Collins (an important member of the 50's and 60's British folk movement). Lastly, Kill Rock Stars will finally get around to releasing those Tarkio recordings on January 24th as a two-disc set titled Ominbus. And, in light of their recent jump to the majors, KRC will still be utitlized to release a Decemberists DVD and possible live album from the upcoming January solo tour. The forthcoming Capitol Records debut won't be in the cards until late 2006 or early 2007. Sweet Jesus.
