Cat Power: The Nature Girl
Reported by erun
An "art piece" commissioned by Cat Power in the form of a DVD + CD combo called Speaking For Trees: A Film by Mark Borthwick will be released and is a nearly 2-hour long film of Cat Power playing solo outdoors, roaming around in nature.
Shot from a far away in "gloriously grainy" color and recorded nature noises promises to be, according to Matador, "a fascinating document." The DVD has 3 nature films set to music from Power's You Are Free album as well as a CD including a single 18-minute long unreleased song "Willie Deadwilder," an outtake from the You Are Free recording sessions. It's specially packaged with a foldout digipak slipcase and a 64-page book created and illustrated by Borthwick.
