A Bunch of Bad Seeds
Reported by simple
Nick Cave and and the Bad Seeds are set to release a brand new album on Anti Records entitled Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus on October 26, 2004. The disc is a two album set of new studio recordings and is the first album recorded without guitarist Blixa Bargeld.
In a continuation of the Nocturama sessions this new two album set sees all The Bad Seeds deeply involved in the recording process . The ubiquitous Mick Harvey does all guitar work on these recordings. Warren Ellis takes on mandolin and Irish bouzouki in addition to violin. Jim Sclavunos and Thomas Wydler equally share drum duties, with bassist Martyn P. Casey completing the rhythm section. Conway Savage and Nick Cave trade off on piano and The Bad Seeds newest recruit, James Johnston (Gallon Drunk), makes his debut playing organ.
Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus was recorded by Nick Launay at Studio Ferber in Paris in Spring 2004. The new album was produced by Nick Launay and Nick Cave and and the Bad Seeds and mixed at Astoria in London
