Allen Epley's (of Shiner fame) new band, The Life and Times just reveald that they will be releasing their debut full length on the revived DeSoto Records. Unfortunately, the album isn't expeted until 2005, but the band is planning to record with J. Robbins, which is good news. For more on the revival of the mighty DeSoto Records, read below.

The indie music community was sadened when news came that the infamous DeSoto Records would be shutting down. However, the label is back in action, and they already have plans to release a full length by Maritime (ex promise ring and d-plan) and an EP by Channels (new J Robbins digs). The label also acquired the rights to the Atlantic Jawbox records For Your Own Special Sweetheart and Jawbox, the last one. Lastly, there is also word of an indie rock kiddie record with some pretty big names like Rivers Cuomo, Sleater-Kinney, and Ian McKay contributing.
