Unfortunately, Grand Royal closed up shop on Friday, as the official word came directly from the Mike D, head of command and member of the Beastie Boys. A press release stated, "mounting debts, decreasing assets and exceedingly harsh industry conditions have forced the venerable Grand Royal label to close its doors." Go here if you would like to read more about this terrible turn of events. I will definitely miss Grand Royal, the only label who was "guaranteed every time."
