Bob on Bob

Reported by erun

Bob Dylan is notoriously camera-shy, but it seems lately that he's come out of his shell a bit... There are two films to watch: a documentary by Martin Scorsese (tentatively titled Bob Dylan Anthology) and a fictional account of Dylan's life (tentatively titled I'm Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Dylan) by Velvet Goldmine director Todd Haynes. Scorsese's will focus on his early years (his university days- rare) and will feature Dylan talking about himself (double rare), and some television footage, including Dylan's 1964 appearance on the Steve Allen Show (triple rare). Expect it on PBS sometime in 2005. Haynes' movie is "impressionistic" account of the man, like that crappy Doors movie. Trust Scorsese and pray he finally gets an Oscar off this documentary. Bob's also on tour, so check the more.
