System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian has teamed up with avant-garde folkie Arto Tuncboyaciyan for a side-project dubbed Serat. Their album will be the first release on Serj's newly formed Serjucal Strike Records. The collab should be interesting, given Serj's vocal prowess and Arto's unique instrumentation -- which, according to NME, includes "a doll Tankian picked up in Japan that makes a "wah-wah" sound, Tuncboyaciyan running his hands through a pot of water and making a noise with his trouser pockets that sounds like bird wings."
