2 Skinnee To Quit
Reported by simple
From 2 Skinnee J's: "The rumors are true. This year will see the end of 2 Skinnee J's as we know it. Our plans for the immediate future are to tour all of March, April and May 2003 to support our new album Sexy Karate, play a final show in New York City some time in June and then enter an indefinite haitus. There is a possibility that we may continue touring through the fall depending on the success of the new record."
We have had an incredible experience playing in 2 Skinnee J's and we are indebted to you for making this period in our lives so extraordinary. Truly these years would have been nothing if it weren't for the unyielding support and dedication of the people who have come to our shows and shared the experience of live music with us. All of us will have lasting memories of these days to last us a lifetime. Our journey easily could have been a short unnoticeable blip were it not for you. We owe you our thanks.
But while the end of this era may be a period of sadness and disappointment for many, it is brightened by our personal excitement over the release of our 3rd full length CD "Sexy Karate." We are very proud of our accomplishment and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The album is currently available only at shows or on the web at 2skinneejs.net, but will have nationwide release in stores on April 8th.
As of now, we are not yet settled on the date of our final show, or what the end really means for us, but our upcoming tour will be our last nationwide one. We will likely be going through many of our favorite Southeastern cities twice this spring, but for those of you in the Midwest, the Northeast and the Louisiana/Texas areas, these shows will be our final chance to get together and celebrate the great times we've had, so take advantage. We are
excited to get to visit the country one more time and to get to see all our wonderful friends and fans who have made the past ten years so memorable, Please come and say goodbye and jump around and get sweaty with us. We'll miss you if you're not there, and, trust us, you'll miss us when we're gone. Not to mention Stumpy will be taking attendance so don't even think of ducking out on this one. No late passes and no notes from your parents.
With that said, this final tour is dedicated to all the clubs who screwed us out of money, all the industry scumbags who lied to us and all the auto repair shops who ripped us off. You Can't Fire Us!!! Fuck You, We Quit!!! It's our National Farewell Tour!!!! Let the fun begin!!!!!"
