If you are wondering what happened to Elliott Smith, you're not alone. Fortunately the great fan site Sweet Adeline is on top of things and collecting the scraps of info available about his forthcoming release From a Basement on the Hill. Apparently it's going to be a double CD and is reportedly not going to be released on DreamWorks this time. No release date has been announced (or a label), but expect it to come out in the neighborhood of late spring/ early summer. Though Elliott plays almost everything on the record, there should be some drumming by Flaming Lips drummer Steven Drozd. Oh yeah, and most importantly, Mr. Smith will be playing a few shows in New York and L.A. within the next few weeks.
