This isn't the sort of news we usually report on here, but we thought you might be interested in hearing about the death of Arman Zildjian, chairman and president of cymbal manufacturer Zildjian (those of you who aren't drummers still probably recognize the name "Zildjan" from seeing it on many a cymbal). He was a descendent of Avedis Zildjian, who began making cymbals in 1623 in Istanbul (then called Constantinople... you know the song). The secret recipe of copper, tin and silver has remained the same throughout the years and is still a closely guarded secret.
