Beds Are Burning in a Redneck Wonderland

Frontman Peter Garrett has announced that he is leaving Midnight Oil. While mostly known for their one-hit "Beds Are Burning" the band has put out a slew of inventive, thoughtful, and rocking albums. Peter cites cited that he wishes to pursue interests outside of the music industry (environmental activism). No hard feelings all around and Bones Hillman, Rob Hirst, and Jim Moginie have said (on the official site) that they plan to continue making music together under a different guise. 25 years is not a bad run for a band, kudos to them.
