Restless Records may find some rest

Reported by yewknee

It appears that indie label Restless Records is going to close it's doors at the end of August. New Regency Productions, the company that funds the label, will be pulling it's financing at the end of August. Bands such as They Might Be Giants, Danzig, Econoline Crush, Spain and catalog artists such as Flaming Lips, Jayhawks, Dead Milkmen, Moog Cookbook, and many more may have to find a new way into stores. According to label sources the final straw came with the lack of success for the Malcolm In the Middle soundtrack and theme song. The label is currently negotiating with a prominent Hollywood entertainment company so there is still hope, but it may push back release dates while everyone gets settled.
