More Nirvana, More Hope

Reported by erun

Once apon a time there was a big legal battle over a wonderful band named Nirvana, and though you thought you heard the end of it, it may be just beginning... In a good way. The one disc compilation record simply titled Nirvana will be released on November 12 (according to NME.com), and the album is now confirmed to feature "You Know You're Right", the last recording singer Kurt Cobain made with his Nirvana bandmembers. Accompanying the release will be a promotional video for "You Know You're Right", containing previously unseen footage of the group. Now the legal disputes are settled, this makes way for more Nirvana releases in the coming years. A comprehensive boxed set will be released in 2004, and a rarities album in between. You can read the official joint statement of Krist, Dave, and Courtney at the more.

"We have settled our legal dispute. We are all pleased that these issues have been resolved positively and we can move on. Together, we are happy to announce the release of Nirvana, a one-CD history of the band that will include 'You Know You're Right', the last recording that Kurt made with Dave and Krist. We hope that this release will enable longtime Nirvana fans to hear some of their favourite songs in a new context. At the same time, the upcoming CD will allow a whole new audience to appreciate Nirvana's music and Kurt Cobain's great talent. We are now moving forward. We thank our fans for their support."
