Radiohead's "Amnesiac" and PJ Harvey's "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea" along with the Gorillazs self-titled album and "Rooty" by the Basement Jaxx have been nominated for the U.K.'s Mercury Music Prize. The list is determined by an independent panel of judges that considers music from a wide range of genres. However, the Gorillaz have turned down their nomination. Bassist Murdoc claimed a Mercury nomination is "heavy" like "carrying a dead albatross round your neck for eternity," and we all know what that must be like.
