Green Day Bassist Has Successful Surgery

Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt underwent surgery on his left wrist Tuesday in a Northern California hospital to combat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Speaking on the band's official website, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong says that the prognosis looks good. "I think he's gonna be fine. Everything was really smooth and he should be well pretty soon. It's gonna be about a six to eight week recovery time or something like that. In the meantime, I'm writing a ton of songs."
