This one isn't specific band news but it's too amusing to pass up. Apparently in an attempt to keep the new Pearl Jam album Riot Act and the new Tori Amos album Scarlet's Walk from leaking onto your favorite file-sharing program, Epic Records delivered the CD to reviewers sealed inside of portable CD players (headphones glued in as well). A spokesman from Epic was quoted as saying "Obviously we have a problem with piracy and this is one of the ways we're trying to address it. We're trying lots of things."
