The Shortlist Has Your Favorites

A panel of musicians, record producers, and music journalists (the "Listmakers") choose their favorite albums (the "longlist") in the coolest award ever: The Shortlist. It puts anything MTV to shame. From those ten albums are chosen to go on the shortlist. One winner is eventually selected who receives $10,000 at the ceremony at the Knitting Factory in LA on October 29th. Last year Sigur Ros were the chosen ones. This years listmakers include Iggy Pop, Beck, Mos Def, India.Arie, Paul Oakenfold, the Neptunes, Jill Scott, Baz Luhrmann, Spike Jonze, Larry Mullen, Jr. (U2), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Damon Albarn (Blur),Greg Kot, Albert Hammond, Jr. and Nick Valensi (The Strokes), Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson (The Roots), and Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth).
