The Dillinger Escape Plan, an NY-based guitar band, have recorded a version of my least-favorite Aphex Twin song "Come To Daddy". The track features as the last track on their new Irony Is a Dead Scene EP, out on Epitaph on August 26. Ex-Faith No More man Mike Patton (Fantomas, Tomahawk, Lovage, Mr. Bungle, etc.) teamed up with the band to record the EP. There is a site up offering an mp3 download of the "Come To Daddy" cover version but it seems to break down now and again, but good ol' Warp Records wouldn't steer ya wrong. Nor would my man Daniel, who wanted this story to get some play.
