Like many bands with the article "The" in front of their name, The Datsuns are the latest hot rock property to emerge quids in from a bidding war. The New Zealand four-piece, who describe their sound as "big dumb rock", have just signed a deal with V2 Records for a reputed £200,000 for only one album, an unprecedented figure for an unknown group (Yes, even THE Vines, Strokes, Hives didn't get that good of a deal.)
