Radiohead good, globalization bad
Reported by heyrevolver
Yesterday in London, Radiohead joined about 10,000 protesters to speak out against their government's role in global trade laws which oppress poorer countries. These laws, according to frontman Thom Yorke, are "pretending to be in the interests of the poorest, but are really highly exploitative." The band wants to bring awareness to issues like these (aided, no doubt, by sites like this one that report on the event and thus spread the word), but isn't necessarily trying to force their views upon anyone -- "we put addresses on our website, but we do not tell people to go there. It's like, if you're interested, whatever." Well, if you're interested, you can check out the full story at the BBC here or Radiohead's website here. Oh yeah, and they are still working on a new album and preparing for set of shows to test new material in Spain and Portugal this summer.
