That Subliminal Kid Gets Jazzy

DJ Spooky will offer his new album, Optometry, to the US on July 9th. The album was recorded as part of the innovative "Blue Series", which was created by Thirsty Ear. While "seamlessly" bringing together live musicians and Spooky's DJ cuts and scratches, the album's sole purporse, like the others in the series, is to push the boundaries of the jazz genre. Joining Spooky on the set are the "Blue Series allstars" Matthew Shipp, William Parker, Joe McPhee and Guillermo E Brown among others. DJ Spooky will tour the US throughout July and August on Optometry, more details will be announced soon.
