When The Drummer Speaks, We Listen
Reported by heyrevolver
Drummer John McEntire recently reported that both Tortoise and Sea & Cake should have new releases out by this fall. The Tortoise release will most likely come in the form of an EP, which will keep fans tied over until the proper follow-up to Standards. On the other hand, the Sea & Cake have spent the past five weeks recording their 6th studio LP (the follow-up to Oui) and expect a release in mid-October. One change that will be evident to those who are familiar with the group's music will be song length. McEntire stated: "...we realized a lot of our older stuff was too extended. We were aghast at how long and drawn out some of it is. A lot of the new tracks are about three minutes long." Both releases will find their way to records stores across the country via Thrill Jockey.
