According to NME.com, the ever eccentric Beck has finished his follow-up to Midnite Vultures. Beck worked with producers Nigel Godrich and Dan "The Automator" Nakamura on the album, which is reportedly "less acoustic than people might have expected... but it’s still pretty downbeat." Last year, Beck talked about his ideas behind the new album: "I've been working for a couple of years on an acoustic record that I wanna make. I think mostly it's gonna be a guitar and voice. And it's very melodic, very quiet, very pretty, sort of influenced by a lot of early-'70s British folk." No specific release date has been announced, but alternate sources say the album will be out by the end of the year.
