Throbbing Gristle to release boxed set
Reported by heyrevolver
Throbbing Gristle, the band that coined the term "industrial music" and influenced just about anyone putting out industrial/experimental/electronic/whatever the hell you want to call it music has announced a 24 CD boxed set (yes, 24 CDs!) to be released later this year. The boxed set is a rerelease of the 24 one-hour live cassettes (which have become very rare and bootlegged often) that the band put out during the late 70s and early 80s. All 24 albums have been remastered and will be presented in a box that includes a variety of inserts, booklets and other fun boxed set-type stuff. The boxed set is being produced as a joint effort of all 4 bandmembers (who broke up in a decidedly unamicable fashion nearly 20 years ago) and will be released on the 23rd of December. Is a VH1 "Behind the Music" special next? Somehow i doubt it.
