..But we must contine to inform you on the plight of Oasis. Oasis have released a brief statement in which they claim rough mixes of new album, Heathen Chemistry, were illicitly recorded onto a "hidden walkman" and placed on the internet. The move is an attempt to combat claims that the record was leaked by someone within the Oasis inner circle, according to British Phonographic Industry representative Jollyon Benn. The statement also claims that versions available on the internet are not the finished mixes which have "come a long way since these recordings were made". The statement, in brief, emphasizes that the tracks poached are "a very poor substitute for the finished record." In other Oasis news, singer Liam Gallagher has collaborated with Prodigy on a new track which he claims could be a future single. Gallagher and Prodigy mainman Liam Howlett have become friends as they are both dating an Appleton sister. Gallagher said that they co-wrote the untitled song, which may be released later in the year. "I hate dance stuff but this is a really good rock'n'roll song. I wasn't told how to do it. I did it my way." The ever compromised Liam Gallagher said. Previously, Liam Howlett has said the pair had not been in the studio together. He commented: "Everybody keeps saying, 'Go on, get Liam on your LP', but we've never been in the studio together. We never talk about work, not me nor Liam or the girls." The Prodigy album, provisionally titled Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, is likely to surface in the summer and could also feature a guest appearance from Perry Farrell.
