The 2002 ESPN Action Sports & Music Awards show was held this past Sunday (it'll be broadcast on ESPN April 16 at 9pm ET). What exactly are these awards celebrating? What do these artists have to do with sports? I'm not sure, but we've got the list of winners anyway... Artist Contribution Award - Red Hot Chili Peppers BMX Musical Artist of the Year - Slayer Motocross Musical Artist of the Year - Pennywise Skateboarding Musical Artist of the Year - Jay-Z Skiing Musical Artist of the Year - Outkast Snowboarding Musical Artist of the Year - Radiohead Sufing Musical Artist of the Year - Jack Johnson People's Choice Award - Sum 41 The awards show also featured performances by RHCP, Jay-Z, X-ecutioners, Unwritten Law and 3rd Strike, so it may be worth watching the broadcast just to check them out.
