Coldplay Almost In Place
Reported by heyrevolver
Coldplay are currently hold up at Air Studios in London with producer Ken Nelson finishing the follow-up to their debut, Parachutes. The first single, tentatively titled "In My Place", will begin broadcasting over radio stations everywhere in around two weeks. Bassist, Guy Berryman, had this to say: "It sounds like Coldplay. You'll recognize it as being us, but it's more energetic and upbeat, more confident. We've grown as people and musicians and we're quite confident we're going to deliver a record that meets all our fans' expectations. I think we've come up with a good follow-up." Berryman also went on to say that 85% of the new album was written on tour supporting Parachutes, but the success of their debut didn't affect the new material. (He could've said that they used tubas on every track of this album and I'd still be looking forward to it.) The album was supposed to be released in June, however that deadline has been pushed back because the group would've had to "seriously [compromise] the music" in order to have the album ready. This news comes from band manager, Phil Harvey, who still expects the album out before the end of the summer. Head to Coldplay's official website to read the full post.
