Dr. Dre has decided to make his new studio album a "hip-hop musical". Elaboration? The producer / rapper said that he wanted to make a departure from the content of his previous records. He told MTV news that his new album will be based around one central character, with all the songs based around his fictional life. Dre said: "I'm not talking about lowriders and blunts and all that anymore. I mean, that's played. As a matter of fact, I'm tired of hearing other people talk about it, to tell you the truth." Hearing will be believing, as the record is still in its early stages, with recording due to start in the summer.
