Van's the Man!

The great Van Morrison will release "Down the Road", his first album of new, original material in three years, on May 14th. The album will be Morrison's first for Universal, following a three-album run with Virgin, which itself marked the end of his thirty-year tenure with Mercury. "Down the Road" will include thirteen new Morrison compositions as well as one of his live staples -- a cover of Hoagy Carmichael's "Georgia on My Mind" -- and "Evening Shadows," an instrumental written by English jazz musician Mr. Acker Bilk, to which Morrison has added lyrics. Bilk also contributes a clarinet solo to the tune. The album's first single will be "Hey Mr. DJ," which will be shipped to radio on April 16th.
