Factory Records documentary due

24 Hour Party People, a documentary about the Manchester music scene in the 1980s, will be released in the UK on April 5 and sometime in June here in the States. The film focuses on old-school indie label Factory Records (at one time home to bands like Joy Division, The Durutti Column, A Certain Ratio and New Order) and its impact on the Manchester scene (and music in general). The documentary will feature old and new interviews with the likes of Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Ian Curtis, Howard DeVoto, and Morrisey. In addition, a soundtrack to the film will include Moby's cover of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades" and "Here to Stay, a collaboration between New Order and The Chemical Brothers.
